Rabbit say to itself, `Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!'

`Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!'

That was my mantra to meself until I chance upon my collections of Poems. One of it ...Slow Dance. Tis is one of my favourites.. sort of a reminder for me...

Slow Dance

by

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round

Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Do you run through each day on the fly

When you ask "How are you?" do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last
Ever told your child,We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, Let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....Thrown away...

Life is not a race. Do take it slower
Hear the music, Before the song is over.
It is sad that I've forgotten about this poem, I used to love it so much, it was a reminder to me to slow down, coz I always want to hurry hurry hurry, I wanted to grow up so fast, want to be 30, flirty and successful. Ermm end up 30 +++, lonely, old and wrinkled now...
Can't imagine how the years have rushed by so fast, too fast for me to even remember what had happened those bygone years ....slow down... Once oh so young , and naive, wishing to be there... to conquer the world with all the spoils in it. Success! How elusive it can be.... in the pursuit of success, all other things seems trivial in nature, whence the real measure of success is actually being content and grateful and enjoy the blessings that we have in abundance around us.
Learn to love more , learn to appreciate more...
